Set up in a few minutes.

What you need

• A Jellyfin server that you, or someone in your household, already runs. Kale has no content of its own.
• An Apple TV, iPhone or iPad. Apple TV needs tvOS 26 or later; iPhone and iPad need iOS or iPadOS 18 or later.
• Seerr is optional. Connect it later if your household uses it for requests.

Connect

1. Get Kale from the App Store on each device.
2. Find your server. Kale looks for it on your network. If it can't see it, type the server's address instead.
3. Sign in. On the Apple TV, Kale shows a code; approve it in Kale on your iPhone or iPad, or in another app you already use with your server. You can also sign in with a username and password.
4. Add the family. On iPhone or iPad, open Settings › Household to set each person's limits and libraries, or make someone new the first time they sign in on the TV.

Away from home

If your household has already set up a way to reach your server from outside, Kale uses that address, just as your other apps do. Kale runs no service of its own in between.
